  25. You also have to count in the cost of the $1.5 billion fabrication line,
  26. which you are going to need several of. Then you have to going to have to
  27. set up all your tech around this line so that you get above the 80% yield
  28. necessary to turn a profit. Then you have to start saving for the next
  29. set of fabs for next gen chips, and begin research/design on said chips.

  31. It's an expensive buisness! Thats why most chip "manufacturers" contract out
  32. to IBM (big stuff) or Motorola (little stuff), or just buy the things from
  33. Intel.
